It's Been a Good Run!
After 27 years, we are retiring rwre.com. We first registered the domain in August of 1996. The internet Archive (wayback machine) first captured the site on December 27th 1996.

Real World helped pioneer real estate on the internet claiming several possible (undocumented) firsts.
At the time, we were providing MLS paper book service to Realtors in Bandon, Oregon. We were among the first to put real estate listings on the internet. We were also possibly the first to allow agents to enter their own listings in an internet based MLS.
In July of 1997 we began offering Assessor Tax information to agents on the Oregon south coast. Back then we received data from several counties on 9 track tape, converted it and loaded it into a database called FirstBase, one of the first internet based databases.

In 2000, with the help of a friend and agent in Florence, we helped Coldwel Banker Coast in Florence display their listing using an interactive map interface.

Unfortunately the wayback machine no longer has most of the graphics from those days.
